These beautiful butterflies show up sometimes on the buddlea in the back garden. I spent a lot of time matching the two wings of the mosaic butterfly. Made with iridescent glass mosaic tiles and stained glass I tried to create a loose background to indicate sky and foliage.
Garden Birds Mosaic
I made this mosaic for my mother who enjoys watching the garden birds from her window. Visitors include goldfinches, blue tits, sparrows and a very territorial robin. The mosaic is made with vintage china, mosaic tiles, stained glass & glass nuggets.
The Green Tree
This mosaic tree has many different shades of green, its leaves are many and varied. Ferns cluster at its base and the shape of other trees are echoed in the background.
Another beauty from the garden mosaiced in the same style as the Red Admiral Butterfly. I love the orange hues contrasting with the blue background and the loose background.
Here I tried to recreate the shoreline as layers, shells & pebbles, the yellow sands, crested waves and seagulls in the blue sky. There are always interesting finds on the shoreline.
This mosaic uses mostly natural materials and ceramic tiles hand cut & shaped to recreate the flow of the stream as it cuts through an Exmoor valley. A few of the stones came from the very stream we admired as we picknicked at its edge.
